Ed has more than 21 years experience within the financial services industry and is also a chartered management accountant. He spent 14 years at Citigroup working predominantly within the design and implementation of multi asset derivative based investments and hedging solutions covering European and Asian clients. During his time there, he established a fund management business and Irish based UCITS platform, launching a number of successful derivative based funds. From 2013 he built a fund management business with three other partners, Atlantic House Fund Management, launching and co-managing two funds and growing assets within 3 years to more than £250 million.
Chris has worked within the financial services industry since 2002 and is also a chartered management accountant. Formerly a trader on the securitisation desk at Citigroup, he was responsible for the creation, trading and risk management of investment linked securities issued by Citi, totalling some 1,000 products and $3 billion in asset value. After leaving Citi, Chris joined a boutique investment house, structuring and pricing derivative based investments whilst overseeing all primary and secondary market activity.
Ryan has over 20 years of experience in financial services, having worked closely with professional investors on multi asset investments and hedging solutions. Ryan spent the first 7 years of his career at HSBC where he gained experience in asset management and project finance, corporate finance and multi asset derivative solutions – where he spent the majority of the time. The latter part of his career was spent at BNP Paribas Equities and Commodity Derivatives and then at Societe Generale where he led the UK cross asset solutions team in working with discretionary fund managers, asset managers, private banks and a select number of pensions funds.
Walter has over a decade of experience within the financial services industry, having worked closely with independent wealth managers, fund managers and private banks in the Benelux and Switzerland. Walter’s expertise spans across all asset classes and he is responsible for expanding Fortem Capital’s distribution across Europe. Prior to joining Fortem Capital Walter worked both at Commerzbank in London and at Leonteq Securities in Amsterdam. Walter is fluent in Dutch, English and French.
Stefan embarked on his career within the financial services industry more than 23 years ago. Starting out as a derivative structurer in 1994 at Bankers Trust, two years later he went on to establish and run Citigroup’s European exotic options trading desk. There he ran one of the largest, most active, and consistently profitable equity option trading teams globally. He was credited with developing a number of innovations in the interbank option market. Latterly, Stefan ran Citi’s European structured products business where he developed a range of investment products and funds. Over $50 billion of these investments were successfully placed with high net worth and institutional clients.
Kevin is a Senior Fund Manager and chairs the Fortem Capital Global Investment Committee. He began his career at Brooks Macdonald Asset Management before joining Bordier, where he was an Investment Director and sat on both the firm’s Investment and Management Committees. Kevin has over 10 years’ experience within the financial services industry and alternative investments. He graduated from Durham University and is a CFA charterholder.
Fred started his career in the financial services industry upon the completion of his MBA in Canada. During this time, he worked as a financial analyst responsible for covering consumer staples alongside taking further finance courses and gaining a specialisation in Corporate and Investment Finance. Fred joined Fortem Capital in March 2018 and is currently involved with the trading and fund management aspects of the business.
Matthew joined Fortem Capital in August 2020 from HSBC Global Asset Management. He holds a First Class MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Glasgow. Whilst at Glasgow, Matthew completed the HSBC Global Asset Management internship, and converted this into a fulltime role on the graduate scheme upon completion of his studies. Here, he worked across asset classes and roles from Direct Real Estate Investments to ETF Sales before joining Fortem. Outside of work and his studies Matthew is a keen rugby player, having played for the 2nd XV at the University of Glasgow, and then for the 1st XV at HSBC Rugby Football Club.
Bachir heads up and oversees Fortem’s quant team and has been instrumental in the build out of its industrial analytics capabilities, utilising state of the art Monte Carlo, stochastic volatility-based modelling and GPU computing technology. He holds an MSc & BSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, where he also acted as a Tutor and Teaching Assistant within the School of Informatics. Bachir has held several front office quantitative developer roles across several leading global investment banks, with a particular focus on derivatives pricing, portfolio optimization, machine learning and credit analytics.
Mark has been owner/manager of a creative/marketing agency for over 20 years from traditional media, his initial expertise lay in print and fine art, however in todays ever changing world of cluttered marketing and everything digital, Mark uses his extensive creative expertise to build ideas for brand enhancement,that stand out from the crowd embracing new technologies, and continuing to develop and strengthen the Fortem brand. Taking a pragmatic and common sense approach to Marketing, and never believe that marketing is “telling the world you are a rock star”
