Finlay Stewart

Finlay joined Fortem Capital in July 2022 as an Operations Analyst, shortly after graduating from the University of Liverpool with a joint honour’s degree in Mathematics & French. His degree includes studies in financial mathematics & statistics, learning which has continued to develop during his time at Fortem. He also took a gap year during his studies, which was dedicated to advancing his linguistic skills in French. Finlay likes to spend his free time playing football, continuing his language studies & having fun with friends and family.

Mark Denny

Mark joined Fortem Capital in October 2022 as Head of Operations. Mark began his career at Baring Asset Management in 1993. Between 1993 and 2014, Mark rotated through a wide variety of roles, gaining detailed experience within Operations, fund administration, IT and management accounting.Between 2014 and 2016, Mark was recruited to become the Chief Operating Officer of Nevsky Capital, one of the world’s leading global long / short equity fund management firms.Between 2016 and 2022, Mark joined 1167 Capital as Chief Operating Officer at its inception. Mark was instrumental in the initial set-up of this global fixed income business and the three fixed income UCITS funds.

Jon Dawson

Jon is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the financial services industry. He holds a degree in Management from the University of Cambridge and boasts over a decade of experience in the industry.

He currently serves as the Head of Asset Management Distribution at Fortem Capital, where he is responsible for the distribution of the company’s range of UCITS funds and bespoke investment solutions.

Prior to joining Fortem Capital, Jon was an Institutional Investment Director at Putnam Investments, where he was responsible for the distribution of the company’s UCITS funds and segregated account offerings in the EMEA region. Before that, he worked as a Business Development Director at Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC, where he had similar responsibilities. Jon’s career in financial services started as a Summer Intern at Aberdeen Asset Management, where he worked in Business Development for UK Financial Institutions. He then went on to become a Business Development Manager, before being promoted to the role of Senior Institutional Business Development Manager for UK & Ireland.

In addition to his financial services background, Jon is a former professional rugby player, having played for Saracens, Harlequins, and Wasps over an eight-year period. With his unique combination of financial services expertise and professional sports experience, Jon brings a unique perspective and drive to his role at Fortem Capital. He is a dedicated and strategic sales professional who excels in relationship building, sales management, and strategic planning.

Hari Kumarakuruparan

Hari joined Fortem Capital as a Trading Analyst in 2023, having graduated from Imperial College London with a first-class master’s in chemistry. His master’s thesis was in molecular physics; which won him a prize in his final year; where he helped explore efficiency challenges in perovskite solar cells, using cutting-edge, ultrafast laser techniques to consolidate the works of both Imperial and Oxford University.  In his free time, Hari loves to play poker, and is also a keen reader, having been an Editor for his university’s paper. 

Paddy Gray

Paddy joined Fortem not too long after his birth in 2020. His interests outside of work include squirrels, balls and treats. In 2022 Paddy passed his probation and was promoted to ‘Chief Happiness Officer’.
